To keep your silver in their best shape. 1- Don't allow your jewelry to come in contact with items containing sulfur (matches, rubber bands, etc). 2- Avoid jewelry contact with abrasive soaps, chemicals, perfumes, hairsprays, dyes, etc. 3-Remove your jewelry while washing, bathing, doing dishes, household chores or cleaning with chemicals. Swimming or doing strenuous activities, exercise sports. 4-Wash jewelry with diluted solution of mild dishwashing liquid and water, rinse and dry thoroughly and keep in little zip lock bag while not wearing. 5-Don't use dip liquid polish on jewelry with oxidation, as it will remove the decoration.
Occasionally a customer will wear a sterling silver ring for a few days and a transparent black film, called tarnish, will appear. Tarnish is the result of the skin's reaction to sterling silver and is produced by sulfuric oxide in the atmosphere and/or by certain foods, drinks or body salts and sometime certain medications or excitement . Generally, if you continue to wear the ring, the tarnish will disappear in a few weeks. If it doesn't, it can be removed with a silver polishing cloth. All silver -Unless Rhodium treated-will tarnish if not taken care of.
On rare occasions, the body may react to the copper alloy in sterling silver and turn the finger a slightly green color. If this happens, clean the ring with a silver polishing cream. and a thin layer of clear nail polish on the inside of the ring will solve the problem.
Even less frequently, amino acids and sodium chloride, sometimes present on the skin, have been known to cause dissolution of the copper alloy in sterling silver and create a condition known as "smudge". Smudge looks like black soot and may appear on the skin and/or ring. This can be removed with a liquid silver jewelry cleaner.
Remove the ring at night to allow the skin to breathe.
By knowing some of silver's characteristics & taking a little extra care, your silver jewelry can really give you a lifetime of enjoyment.
The best and most accurate way to get your ring size is to
check it at a local jeweler store, but if you can not do that , you
can follow these instructions and you will be able to determine it 1.Cut a strip of paper no wider than 1/4". 2.Wrap the paper snugly around your finger and mark where
it meets. 3.measure the marked length of paper and compare it to the chart
on the right.
Note: If you Knuckle is significantly larger than your finger you
should measure the knuckle as described above and pick a size somewhere
in between.
